Hello, hello!!
I hope that everyone is doing well and that you enjoyed/are enjoying the spring and summer garden tours, wherever you may be!! I hated to miss out on my all-time favorite Historic Garden Week in Virginia, but I was down in Nashville for one of my daughter’s full-band shows. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world, and flowers (regardless of how fabulous) couldn’t keep me away from my baby girl! Keith Richards and his Wild Horses would understand that. (No! “Wild Horses” was not originally about Mick and Marianne Faithfull! It was about Keef’s little boy, Marlon…until Mick got his hands on it!)

So. I know that I’ve been (once again) a bit of a delinquent when it comes to writing or even visiting my site, but that is not because I’m lazy. In fact, a lot has been happening with Betsy Gibson Design! And I can’t wait to tell you about it…are you ready?

THE NEW KID IN TOWN: NANTUCKET LOVE™
I am thrilled to announce the launch of my new line of home decor and accessory products, inspired by my love for Nantucket. This beautiful island off the coast of Massachusetts has always been a source of inspiration for me, and it proved itself once again back in January, when I awoke in the middle of the night with the name, product line and even a few designs all fully formed in my head. It’s truly always at the forefront of my mind, even when I’m not there. And I know I’m not alone in this.
The Nantucket Love™ line combines my hand illustrations and paintings with graphic elements in ways that capture the essence of Nantucket as I know and love it. In addition to crisp, bold, traditional colors (eg, blues and whites), I also use lots of bright, fun colors (check out my “Beaches of Nantucket” collection!). In a new and unexpected move, I also utilize a range of soft and serene color palettes. Why? Because Nantucket calls for them. Soft and subtle colors may be new to me, but they are, along with the crisp and the bold, the colorful and the quirky, quintessential Nantucket. And to leave them out of any Nantucket collection would be to provide a limited view of my favorite island! After all, there is a whole lot of gray in Nantucket! It should be celebrated!
The line will feature a range of products manufactured in London on a made-to-order basis. My manufacturing partner utilizes a state-of-the-art facility that employs eco-conscious and sustainable best practices in their printing and fabrication. And they have been terrific to work with because they understand my mission, which is to capture the island's coastal chic in a truly distinctive way.
In addition to pillows, Nantucket Love™ will soon be featuring photo frames, leather travel trays, neoprene totes, acrylic blocks for desks or bookshelves, as well as beautiful embroidered Turkish Towels. There will be some surprise products along the way, too. Because it’s fun to do surprise drops!!
