Now More Than Ever...Flower Power!! And COLOR, Lots of Color!!
The lead up to spring brings thoughts of so many of my favorite events, including Art in Bloom at the Hill Stead Museum and Historic Garden Week in Virginia—both such fun to participate in. Oh, and the Boston Flower Show! They are all usually right around the corner at just this time of year, and I’ve usually gotten my preparations well underway!! Unfortunately, this year has thrown us a bit of a curve in the form of Coronavirus (COVID 19). But that’s what life does. It throws curveballs, and we just have to adapt and make the best of things.
So…my flowers and I won’t be road tripping it down to Farmington any time soon, and I won’t be traveling to Virginia to give a workshop or to go on the Garden Tour (and give you a play by play via the blog). But that’s ok. No one likes what’s happening, but we are all adapting and coping. And that’s something that we, as Americans, do well. We are, I like to think, responsible people who care about each other, and we want to protect each other from harm, lift each other’s spirits and try to stay in touch.
And so, I am hoping to return from my self imposed winter hiatus and bring a tiny bit of light and fun to this time with some periodic blog posts featuring flowers to swoon over and home decor designs to inspire you as you think about refreshing your home post Covid-19. And I may even write about other things! That would be a pivot, would it not? We’ll see. In the meantime, stay well and make sure you notice the buds and the blooms along the way!
